Hot Air Balloon Luxor with Hotel Transfers Included
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
LuxorTransfers are part of the booking. An air-conditioned car or minivan collects you from your central Luxor hotel before dawn, runs you out to the launch site and brings you back once the balloon is packed away, which is the part most travellers underestimate when they book a sunrise flight in a city where the balloons take off across the river. The briefing happens on the ground, then the basket goes up over the West Bank with live commentary in English. Up to 15 travellers can be booked at a time. All fees and taxes are covered, and the whole thing runs to roughly three hours from pickup to drop-off. Guiding is available in ten languages. The balloon is run by Hod Hod Soliman Balloons, a Luxor operator that says it has been flying here for more than 30 years and that it has held a five-star rating and the top ranking among Luxor balloon rides for the past decade. The ride is suitable for all levels of fitness, but it is not recommended for pregnant travellers or for anyone with a spinal injury.

Soar above Luxor’s West Bank for an aerial perspective of…
The balloon climbs over Luxor's West Bank while the sun is still low, the hour when the temples and the standing statues below hold their strongest colour. Safety guidelines are given before boarding, then the basket rises hundreds of feet. Look east and the temples and chapels of Karnak spread out along the river. To the west, the Temple of Hatshepsut sits tight against the foot of the cliffs. The Colossi of Memnon stand out below, facing the ground that holds the royal tombs. The guide talks through the history and the setting during the flight, which is what turns the shapes on the ground into places you can name, and gives a sense of the scale of ancient Luxor.
