Colossi of Memnon

Two enormous stone figures of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, the Colossi of Memnon sit in front of the wreckage of his own mortuary temple, which was the largest in the Theban Necropolis.

Edfu Temple

The Temple of Edfu stands on the west bank of the Nile at Edfu, in Upper Egypt. In the Hellenistic period the town was known by its Greek name and in Latin as Apollonopolis Magna, because the chief god here was Horus, whom the Greeks read as their own Apollo under the interpretatio graeca.

Kom Ombo Temple

A double temple, which is rare in Egyptian building, at Kom Ombo in the Aswan Governorate of Upper Egypt. Construction ran under the Ptolemaic dynasty between 180 and 47 BC, and the Romans added to it later.

Two vast temples cut directly into rock, at the village of Abu Simbel in Aswan Governorate, Upper Egypt, close to the Sudanese border. The site is on the western shore of Lake Nasser, roughly 230 km southwest of Aswan.

Aswan High Dam

The Aswan Dam, known more precisely since the 1980s as the Aswan High Dam, is among the largest embankment dams anywhere in the world. It was built across the Nile at Aswan between 1960 and 1970, and on completion it was the tallest earthen dam in existence, taking that title from the Chatuge Dam in the United States.
