Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon or Kelebek Sunrise Flight
The launch site is not fixed. Pilots read the morning weather first and only then decide where to lift off from, which means the flight path across Cappadocia is set on the day rather than printed on a schedule. Pickup is from your hotel around sunrise, with a stop at the operator's office in Goreme before the transfer out to whichever field has been chosen. At the site there is a full safety briefing, and passengers watch the balloon inflate from the ground before the crew helps them into the basket. The ground below combines raw geology with a deep and complicated human history. Cappadocia is the most flown balloon destination in the world, and Turkish civil aviation limits daily launches to around 150 across all sectors, so the sky above the valleys fills quickly once the first burners fire. Balloons fly at dawn, so an added flight would go early on the second morning, before the 09:45 to 10:00 meeting at hotel reception for the southern half of the region. The return flight leaves Cappadocia between 19:00 and 22:00 and reaches Istanbul between 20:30 and 23:30, where a transfer takes you back to your hotel.
