The launch field is on the west bank of the Nile. Passengers share a basket, and the flight lasts 35 to 50 minutes above the Valley of the Kings and the archaeological sites spread along the west bank. Sunlight arrives while the balloon is already up, catching the temples and the mountains behind them. The operator states that its pilots hold official certification. After landing, the transport returns you to your hotel, accommodation or cruise ship, so the only thing you have to arrange yourself is getting out of bed.

The transfer runs to the launch site for a balloon flight over one of the most important archaeological areas in the world, with 40 to 50 minutes in the air above the Valley of the Kings and the monuments of the Luxor west bank. From the basket you look down on the temples and tombs laid out along the desert edge. The operator states that its pilots are officially certified and experienced, and describes its balloon fleet as the most modern in Luxor. After landing you are driven back to your hotel, other accommodation or cruise ship. Pickup time is not fixed: check it with the company agent, since it changes with how far your accommodation is from the ballooning area.

Karnak and its complex of temples and chapels lie to the east. To the west is the temple of Hatshepsut, at the foot of the cliffs. The Colossi of Memnon rise from the flat ground, apparently standing guard over the royal tombs, and the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens pass below as well. Scale is the other reason to go up. From a few hundred feet the plan of each temple and the distance between them are visible at once, which no visit on foot gives you, and the guide fills in what each site was built for while it is still under the balloon.
