Sunrise or sunset?
Both are sold here, which is less common than it sounds — most destinations fly only at dawn. The Loire evening air settles reliably enough for an afternoon slot, and it is the easier booking for anyone travelling with children or without a car. The light is warmer in the evening; the air is usually calmer at sunrise.
What happens between landing and getting back?
The balloon lands wherever the wind puts it, in a field agreed with the farmer, and a chase vehicle collects passengers and equipment. That drive back to the launch site is why a one-hour flight occupies three to four hours of your day. Do not book lunch for a fixed time.
Is a flight over the Loire suitable for children?
Operators set their own minimum age and height, on the practical grounds that a passenger must see over the basket edge and stand braced for landing. Thresholds are on the individual listing. There is no national rule to check against.
How full is the basket?
Loire baskets are typically shared, carrying eight to sixteen passengers in compartments, with the pilot in the centre. Nobody on this page sells a private flight, so if you want the basket to yourself the Loire is not where to look for it.
