Balloon Flight over the Costa Brava and the Empordà, from Jafre

The flight leaves from a field near Jafre, in the flat farming country of the Empordà, and lasts about an hour and a quarter. That is longer than most balloon flights in Spain, and it is what lets this one cover ground: villages and hamlets first, then cliffs, hills, beaches, and the bays and coves the Costa Brava is named for. The pilot narrates as you go, which on this route matters more than usual. From the air the Empordà reads as a single plain, and knowing which village is which, and where one bay ends and the next begins, is the difference between a view and a place. A few practical things are included. There is a snack in the basket, juice and biscuits, eaten while flying. A photo report of your own flight arrives by email afterwards. On landing there is a cava toast and a certificate, and a 4x4 takes you back to where you started. One thing to check before booking: this activity is non-refundable.
