Serengeti Balloon Safari with Bush Breakfast under an Acacia
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
SerengetiSerengeti Balloon Safaris has been flying here since the 1970s, with 30 years of experience behind the operation. The flight lasts about an hour over the plains and whatever is moving on them. Where it goes is not up to anyone in the basket. The wind sets the route, so the crew knows where the morning starts and not where it will end. Part of the hour is spent brushing the tops of the grass, part of it climbing through the layers of air until the horizon starts to curve. Afterwards comes a champagne toast and a full English breakfast laid out under an acacia tree. Which part of the park you fly over depends on the month. Seronera runs all year; Kogatende from June to November; the western Serengeti from June to October; Ndutu from mid-December to the end of March. The operation follows the animals rather than the other way round.
