Balloon racing is a real sport, and a pilot who does it well reads wind for a living, which is the only skill that matters once the basket leaves the ground. On a morning flight the neighbouring islands often come into view, Cabrera and Menorca both, which only happens when the air is clear enough. Transfers from the hotels can be added. The schedule is approximate: the organiser sends a WhatsApp the day before with the exact time.

The Balloon Airport near Manacor is easy to find: take exit 44 off the MA-15 between Palma and Manacor, where there is a sign, and the site sits right at the junction. The schedule is approximate, and the organiser, who is the only person authorised to set it, sends a WhatsApp the day before with the exact time.
