Sunset Balloon Ride over the Sonoran Desert at Phoenix
An hour in the air as the sun goes down over the Sonoran Desert. Evening flights are less common than dawn ones, because the air has to have settled again first, and what you get for it is different light: low, orange, and coming in sideways across the desert rather than from overhead. The view runs the full 360 degrees, with nothing in the way. A toast and light refreshments follow the landing.

Rainbow Ryders Hot Air Balloon Ride Co.
Meet at the check-in office, then the pilots and crew drive you out to the launch site. You can get hands-on and help the crew, or stand back and watch the envelope come up, which takes a few minutes and is worth watching either way. Safety briefing before boarding, then the climb into the Arizona sky.
