Teotihuacan Balloon Flight with Cave Breakfast, Pyramids and CDMX Pickup
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
Mexico CityTwenty years in the air and more than 100,000 passengers behind it, this is the best selling balloon flight on the platform, and the company bills itself as Mexico's number one. Safety is not left vague. The pilots hold both private and commercial licences, and the balloons are new and certified by the AFAC, Mexico's Federal Civil Aviation Agency. The morning runs in sequence. The balloon lifts off over the Teotihuacan Valley for the flight itself. On landing comes the toast that ballooning tradition calls for, followed by a Mexican show with tequila. Breakfast is served inside a natural cave decorated with pre-Hispanic art. Then the group walks the pyramids of Teotihuacan. An Experience Coordinator stays with the group throughout, which on a morning with this many moving parts is the difference between a schedule and a scramble.

Mexico City
Arrival back at your hotel in Mexico City falls between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm. Worth knowing: Times are approximate and shift with traffic, weather and how the day runs. Leaving the tour before the final stop means arranging your own way back to Mexico City, since this is a shared departure. The flight depends on the weather and the balloon goes where the wind takes it, so flying over the pyramids cannot be guaranteed. It happens about 90% of the time. A guide at the archaeological site is not included and costs extra. La Cueva restaurant opens at 8:30 am, which can mean a wait of up to 40 minutes. The itinerary is sometimes reordered to avoid it.
