Hot Air Balloon Rides in Turkey
Ballooning in Turkey means Cappadocia first, plus a smaller sunrise operation over the travertine terraces of Pamukkale.
Turkish ballooning is concentrated in one province. Nevşehir, in central Anatolia, holds Cappadocia, and Cappadocia accounts for the overwhelming majority of balloon flights sold in the country. The remaining 780,000 square kilometres of Turkey contribute one modest second site and very little else.
That concentration is geology and air rather than marketing. Balloons need terrain worth looking down at and calm, predictable dawn wind, and central Anatolia supplies both for most of the year. For visitors it simplifies the planning: you are choosing a morning and an operator, not a region.
