Cuatro días en el río entre Asuán y Luxor, al ritmo de la embarcación. Se pasan largos tramos en cubierta contemplando cómo desfila ante nuestros ojos el valle del Nilo, con sus orillas cultivadas y sus pueblos con el desierto como telón de fondo, y las visitas a los templos se intercalan entre las horas de navegación, en lugar de concentrarse en una sola jornada en autobús. La ruta incluye los lugares mencionados en el itinerario: el templo de Filae y la Gran Presa de Asuán, el obelisco inacabado, los templos excavados en la roca de Abu Simbel, Kom Ombo, el templo de Horus en Edfu, y luego el templo de Luxor, Karnak, el Valle de los Reyes, el templo de la reina Hatshepsut y los colosos de Memnón.   1. Temple of Philae

    Reaching the Graeco Roman temple dedicated to the goddess Isis takes a short hop on a small motorboat.

  2. Aswan High Dam

    The second tour starts at the High Dam, finished in 1960 to shield Egypt from flooding and to produce electricity.

  3. Abu Simbel Temple

    Pickup for Abu Simbel is very early, with the guide taking a small shared group south. Arrival is around 8 am at the rock-cut temples of Abu Simbel, built for King Ramses II and his beloved Queen Nefertari, their design cut straight into the rock face. Back at the cruise by noon for lunch, then sailing on towards Kom Ombo city.

  4. Kom Ombo Temple

    Kom Ombo city comes next, and its temple shared between Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. Dinner is back on the cruise, which keeps sailing to Edfu for the night.

  5. Edfu Temple

    Breakfast first, then a horse carriage ride with the guide to the temple of Horus at Edfu, described as the most complete and best preserved of all the Egyptian temples. Back on board, the deck is the place to watch the Nile River go past on the way to Luxor. The Esna Lock is crossed during the day. Lunch is served on board, with afternoon tea on the sundeck.

  6. Luxor Temple

    Arrival at the cruise dock is late in the afternoon, followed by a transfer to Luxor temple on the East bank, where ancient Egyptian, Christian and Islamic features stand together. Dinner on board comes with a belly dancing show, then the night in Luxor. Note: arriving at Luxor dock by 3:00 or 3:30 pm leaves time to visit both Karnak and Luxor Temples.

  7. Colossi of Memnon

    A 5:00 am pickup starts the morning, with a hot air balloon flight of 30 to 45 minutes over the west bank of Luxor. The view from the basket takes in the great temples and the mountains below, along with the landmarks the city is known for.

  8. Valley of the Kings

    Check out follows breakfast, then the drive to the West Bank and the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom carved their tombs into the mountains to hide their treasure and protect their mummies.

  9. Temple of Hatshepsut

    Next is the mortuary temple of queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari, with her temple and the story involving her nephew. The West Bank portion closes with a photo stop in front of the gigantic statues of Memnon. Lunch at a local restaurant is optional.

  10. Karnak Open Air Museum

    Back on the East Bank for Karnak Temple, built over 2000 years and covering an area of about 63 acres, with photographs to take among its huge pillars and obelisks. The transfer to a Luxor hotel, the airport or the railway station follows, around 3:00 to 4:00 pm.
